Tara over at Sticky Fingers has come up with a great idea (great because it's photography related.. yay!!)
Tara gives a theme for the photograph and we post a photograph showing that theme and a bit about it.
So, the theme is beauty. I could have gone for any of the shots of my lovely daughters, or flowers or something like that, but I've chosen an obscure one to show beauty because basically, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this photograph is so ugly it's beautiful in my mind. Actually, the textures that I think I've managed to capture are beautiful and so rich, that's why I'm chosing it for my Beauty themed photograph. It's one of my all time favourite photographs that I've ever taken.

ReplyDeleteYou've described that so well too, the textures and clearness of everything makes it stunning! Wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteThat's a brilliant photo! I love the expression on his face, priceless
ReplyDeleteawww, this is wonderful! what a fantastic shot! I absolutely adore this.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. WOW. That is just fabulous. That's the sort of picture I would choose on a birthday card because, as you say, it's so ugly it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFabulous and thanks so much for joining in x
I love this photo.... Although I don't think I would be calling him ugly to his face lol
ReplyDeleteCan you come with me on holiday so you can take my photos for me? This is excellent and so wonderfully cheeky too x
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing picture - I love it! Truly beautiful x
ReplyDeletewonderful capture!
ReplyDeleteI love it, yes the textures are amazing. I love Highland cattle anyway ( think it is one?) I think they are so beautiful but your photo is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSnap, I was totally thinking along similar lines. I'm glad I didn't post my picture of a Highland Cow though, I think this one has the edge on him! Just curious - did you do a little extra postprocessing to bring out the texture and sharpness? It looks almost hdr, but in a natural way. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous photo. He is an absolute stunner.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! You can totally see how superior he is to us!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite photos from the ones I have seen this week, possibly ever. He's so majestic and yet there is vulnerability in his eyes, and you're right about the textures that you have captured. It is indeed true that a picture speaks a thousand words.
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant - it's made me giggle :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, what a mean look in his eye! I love the texture in his hair. Bizarrely, my photo today is of a highland cow too. I swear I didn't see yours first!
ReplyDeleteOoooh he's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGot almost a regal air about him, hasn't he?!
That is gorgeous, I love Highland Cattle.
ReplyDeleteCJ xx
Great pic, my hubby loves highland cattle, he wants one as a pet
ReplyDeletewow thanks everyone for your lovely comments :) You made my day!
ReplyDeleteI love highland cattle but it seems that I'm not alone in that.
Bizarely, I have a print of this shot up in my living room. I wonder how many people have got a photo of a wooly coo on the wall of their living room LOL.
Catherine, just normal processing on this one, no HDR (although I am a sucker for HDR)
Thanks again everyone
I adore highland cattle and this is just so cute. I wonder what he's thinking as he looks at you - he has a great expression!
