The Gallery - Portrait

Yay it's Gallery day again, as set by Tara at Sticky Fingers. This week's subject is portraits. Not my strongest photographic subject by a long way. So I thought I'd give you a very rare moment, and post a self portrait. So this is me (notice the inches of slap on my face? LOL. I rarely wear this much makeup) I'm always at the other side of the camera, so I'm never in any photographs. This is from last year, and my hair is quite a bit longer now.

I also wanted to show this photograph of my youngest. She was sitting in the dog's bed by the patio doors. The light was lovely and she was away with the fairies LOL, but she just looked so cute at the time.

  1. Yay for patio doors! Winter would be a photographic wasteland without them - a life without catchlights is unthinkable :) Lovely photos.

  5. The one of your daughter is particularly lovely. The light in her eyes. The soft focus. Gorgeous. The self portrait one is good too - did you use a self timer or did someone else take it? I like the way you are looking directly into the camera. Challenging and confident.

  13. Embrace your face, Annie - it's the textures and the landscapes of the face that are the most wonderful things about them

  14. Thank you. The one of me was taken with a point and shoot held at arms length. I just stared into the camera and click. :)

  15. Thanks very much. If she knows I'm taking a photograph, she is the most un-photogenic kid I've ever seen.. she grimaces LOL. If I can catch an unaware shot, it usually comes out pretty good. Thanks for your kind comment

  17. Very true words from a true portrait photographer ;) The problem I have is that the valleys are getting deeper on my face, they're starting to look like glaciers LOL
